Syrian Army pushes deeper in Eastern Ghouta

Video: 23/11/2016
Syria's government forces continue its advance deep in the Eastern Ghouta region, recapturing more territories from the Islamist rebels in Mayda'ani and Hawsh al-Dhwahrah.

Key as it may get for rebels stronghold of Douma, the Saudi-backed Jaysh al-Islam sent massive reinforcements to the frontlines to hamper the Army's advance.

According to rebel sources, militants destroyed – with an anti-tank guided missiles – a tank and a BMP vehicle for the Army while attempting to foil the assault.

With the new swaths recaptured, government forces are tightening the noose around rebels in their longtime stronghold of Douma.
