Tiger Forces launch counter-offensive against ISIS in southeast Aleppo

The Syrian Arab Army’s “Tiger Forces” have launched a wide-scale counter-offensive in the Aleppo Governorate’s southeastern countryside after the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) captured the strategic city of Khanasser and several other small villages along the Syrian government’s main supply route. Led by Colonel Suheil Al-Hassan, the Tiger Forces arrived to the Jabboul Lake area of Aleppo in order to begin a military campaign to retake every site captured by ISIS in the last 48 hours. The Tiger Forces began their assault by firing a barrage of missiles towards ISIS’ defensive positions along the Khanasser-Aleppo Road; this was followed by a tank assault by the Cheetah Forces “Team 3”. According to a member from the Tiger Forces’ media team, the Syrian Armed Forces have yet to storm any of the villages ISIS captured; however, they are preparing to strike after the Russian airstrikes dissipate. The Khanasser Plain is an air force’s dream, thanks in large part to its relatively flat land that provides little cover for their intended targets; it is also one of the reason’s why the Syrian Armed Forces have concentrated on bombarding the ISIS terrorists, rather than storming their defenses right away.
