Germany are first quarterfinalists

NOVI SAD - Germany secured their spot in the quarterfinals of the 2103 Women's Handball World Championship, after beating Angola 29-21 (13-10) in the first Round of 16 match in Novi Sad late on Sunday. France beat Japan 27-19 (12-9) and Poland defeated Romania 31-29 (13-17).

 Demnark ousted defending champions Montenegro from the competition 22-21 (11-12). Germany will play Denmark and France will face Poland. Both matches will be played in Novi Sad on December 18. In the remaining Round of 16 matches, Hungary will face Spain and Norway will play the Czech Republic in Novi Sad, and Brazil will take the Netherlands and South Korea will face Serbia in Belgrade. 
The matches will take place on Monday.
