Mirovic: We will assist Serb municipalities in KiM

BELGRADE - Minister of Regional Development and Local Self-Government Igor Mirovic called on citizens on Wednesday to vote in the local elections in Kosovo-Metohija, noting that on December 1 they will decide on their fate.

“Ahead of the second round of elections for local bodies in Kosovo-Metohija, I would like to call on all citizens in the municipalities in which our candidates stand for election, primarily candidates of the Citizens' Initiative Srpska, to go to the polls,” Mirovic said, touring a local self-government fair. In a statement to Tanjug, he said that December 1 will be the date when they will have an opportunity to choose the best candidates.

 “In the municipalities where candidates of various lists are being imposed, we must not allow that some personal vanity, antagonism or local envy affect general interests, the interest of our people's survival in Kosovo-Metohija,” Mirovic underlined. “These are crucial elections when it comes to the survival of our people in Kosovo-Metohija. If we form a strong community of Serb municipalities, we will have a very strong mechanism for technical, financial and any other assistance, 

“ Mirovic said. He told reporters that the Ministry of Regional Development and Local Self-Government will do everything in its power to assist all Serb municipalities through various development projects after the elections in KiM. Photo Tanjug/D. Stankovic (archive)
