BELGRADE - Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic talked in Belgrade on Friday with President of the Ski Association of Serbia Dimitrije Paunovic and representatives of the national ski team about preparations for the Winter Olympics in Sochi. President Nikolic noted that Serbia has very talented skiers who fail to achieve some better results due to the lack of adequate conditions.

That problem, which also occurs in other sports in Serbia, should be addressed urgently, the president's press office said in a release. President Nikolic announced another meeting with Serbia's ski team before the Olympics, when he will present them with the national flag, the release notes.

The Olympics will be held in Sochi from February 4-23, 2014, and these will be the first Winter Olympic Games in Russia. Due to the lack of funds, Serbian skiers' participation in official preparations has been put in jeopardy. Photo Tanjug, Z. Zestic
