China backs Serbia's EU path, dialogue on Kosovo-Metohija

BELGRADE - Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic and Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Song Tao noted at a meeting on Saturday that China-Serbia relations are characterized by the traditional friendship and a high level of trust and support.

  It was underscored that China backs Serbia along its path toward the EU, the launched reforms, and efforts invested in resolving problems in Kosovo-Metohija through dialogue. Improvement in economic cooperation is particularly encouraging, as well as within China's mechanism for cooperation with 16 countries of Central and Eastern Europe, and Prime Minister Dacic, who will take part in the summit of prime ministers of 16 countries of Central and Eastern Europe in Bucharest on November 26 this year, proposed that, next year, the summit should be held in Belgrade, the government's press office announced.
 Prime Minister Dacic also made a proposal that the seat of the body tasked with coordinating cooperation in the sectors of infrastructure and transport as part of this mechanism should be in Belgrade. Serbian Minister of Natural Resources, Mining and Spatial Planning Milan Bacevic and Transport Minister Aleksandar Antic also took part in the meeting, the release notes. Photo Tanjug, Z.Zestic
