Volunteers take oath in Valjevo, Sombor, Leskovac

BELGRADE - Voluntary conscripts, reserve officers and cadets of the 138th class of the Military Academy took their oaths in the barracks of the Serbian Armed Forces in Valjevo, Leskovac and Sombor on Saturday.
The ceremonies were attended by conscripts' families, top officials of the Defence Ministry and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Serbia and representatives of local self-governments, police and church dignitaries. Voluntary conscripts, reserve officers of the medical and veterinary teams and 138th class of cadets of the Military Academy, and Defence Minister Nebojsa Rodic congratulated them on oath-taking. 
 Rodic said that as the stability factor in the region, the army is proud of the confidence Serbian citizens have in it. In the Petar Bojovic barracks in Sinkovac near Leskovac, Chief-of-staff of the Serbian Army General Ljubisa Dikovic stated that the oath-taking ceremony shows that Serbia's youth has not forgotten the tradition and real values which are often ascribed to older generations. He announced that the army would continue with procurement of up-to-date military equipment and that for the most part, it would be purchased from local producers. \
