Serbia's first defeat at EuroBasket

9/7/2013 2:05:00 PM
JESENICE - The Serbian national basketball team lost on Friday evening to Macedonia 89-75 (29-17, 19-15, 22-13, 19-30) in a third-round match of Group B at EuroBasket 2013 in Slovenia. This has been quite a disappointment, after an excellent start of the Serbian team which previously outplayed Lithuania and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Despite this defeat, Serbian basketball players, led by chief coach Dusan Ivkovic, still stand a chance of reaching the second phase of the European championship. Danilo Andjusic was the best player in the Serbian team with 19 points, and Nemanja Bjelica scored 13 points, while the best player in the Macedonian team was Lester Bo McCalebb who secured the country's first victory with an amazing 27 points.
