KOSOVSKA MITROVICA - Serbian Minister of Education Zarko Obradovic stated on Friday that Serbia will continue to finance the University of Pristina temporarily seated in Kosovska Mitrovica and that the issue of education has not been discussed in Brussels.

"The Serbian government is doing everything to resolve all issues in the interest of the state and the Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija," the education minister said. Obradovic stressed that the Serbian government made a decision several days ago on the number of students who will be enrolled to colleges at public expense, adding that he came to the University of Pristina to support the work of professors and students and tell them that the government has approved all quotas claimed by the university. "What is important to me is that we will work together on duration, promotion and strengthening of the university, its faculties, raising the quality of knowledge and effectiveness of the faculties," Obradovic said. We should nurture our insignia and accept what is good from others.

This is the mission of this university. We should seek the best solutions that will be in the interest of Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija (KiM), the University in Pristina temporarily seated in Kosovska Mitrovica and the Republic of Serbia, Obradovic noted. University Rector Srecko Milacic stated that everyone working in this institution of higher education are aware of their responsibility, which is why they are rightly concerned. "The stakes are high and they are called survival. Without Serbia's seal on diplomas, Serbian citizenship, judiciary, we can hardly have a constant that will be the guarantor of identity and survival for Serbs from KiM," Milacic said.

The University in Pristina - Kosovska Mitrovica has around 10,000 students.
