Pantic: Vucic's visit to Kosovo is step forward

KOSOVSKA MITROVICA - Deputy head of the Serbian government office for Kosovo Krstimir Pantic said on Monday that a small step forward was made during Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic's visit to northern Kosovo and that he thought the central and local governments would find a common language.

Vucic's visit on Sunday and meeting with officials of four Serb municipalities concerning the Brussels agreement with Pristina is the best way to solve the problems and misunderstandings that exist between the Serbian government and local governments in northern Kosovo, he told Tanjug. "I am glad the presidents of the local governments reiterated, and a huge majority of members of the local assemblies stated so as well yesterday, that the problems that exist in Kosovo cannot be solved without the Serbian government," Pantic noted.

This is just the beginning of what is to come in the future, and that is more frequent communication and not just meetings with assembly members, but also with people who live in northern Kosovo, he stressed. "The views have not been brought closer together much, but a step forward was definitely made and that is a good sign," Pantic pointed out. Photo Tanjug, Z. Žestić
