Mihajlovic: I will leave if we do not qualify

BELGRADE - Head coach of Serbia's football team Sinisa Mihajlovic has stated that he will leave the helm of the national team if it does qualify for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. After six matches, Serbia is placed third in qualifying group A and has only theoretical chance to reach the World Cup in Brazil, since it lags nine points behind the leading selections of Belgium and Croatia. "Mathematically, we are still in the game.

We have four matches until the end of qualifications and, regardless of the fact that the destiny is not in our hands any more, we will fight to get everything," Mihajlovic told Belgrade-based daily Vecernje novosti. "If we qualify for the World Cup, we will continue working, if not, as I already said, my decision will be to leave. Although we all know that the Football Association of Serbia did not set Brazil as an imperative, this is my goal.

This is my decision," he said. Mihajlovic added that he set such a high goal because he is "such a man." Serbia's football team will play another four matches within World Cup qualifiers - on June 7 an away match against Belgium, on September 6 a home match against Croatia, on September 10 an away match against Walse and on October 15 a home match against Macedonia.
