Nikolic to visit Greece on November 9-11

BELGRADE – Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic will be on an official visit to Greece, at the invitation of the country's President Karolos Papoulias, on November 9-11, Tanjug has learned at the Serbian presidency.

Nikolic, who will lead a Serbian delegation in Athens, will have meetings with the country's senior officials and Greek businessmen.

 The president will also visit Mount Athos and the Serbian monastery of Hilandar on this mountain. Nikolic will visit the crypt at Zeitinlik, a Serb military cemetery near Thessaloniki, where he will lay wreaths, and Corfu and Vido islands, in commemoration of the World War I Armistice Day. 

 The Serbian president and his Greek counterpart will attend a commemorative ceremony on the island of Vido, after which they will visit the Serbian Museum of Corfu (Srpska kuca), which houses rare exhibits relating to Serbian soldiers' World War I tragic fate. Armistice Day is commemorated as a state holiday in Serbia for the first time this year.
