EULEX, KPS arrest suspect in checkpoint attack

PRISTINA - One more person suspected of attacks on Serbian police at the administrative line with Kosovo near the village of Dobrosin has been arrested in a joint operation carried out by EULEX and Kosovo Police Service (KPS).

According to a EULEX report, the person was arrested on Wednesday and is suspected of being a member of the terrorist organization that took the responsibility for the attacks that took place close to the Bela Zemlja administrative crossing.

The individual is also charged with illegal possession of weapons, and EULEX pre-trial judge from the District Court in Gnjilane ordered that he be remanded in custody for one month. At the beginning of the week, three persons were arrested in connection with the same case and were also given a one-month detention.

The prosecution of the case was assigned to a EULEX prosecutor from the Office of the Special Prosecutor of Kosovo. In less than half a year, the Serbian police checkpoint in Dobrosin was attacked three times, the last time on October 7. Attackers opened fire on the checkpoint, but nobody was injured in the incident.
