Serbia qualifies for Olympics in London

TOKYO - Serbia's women's volleyball team has qualified for the Olympics in London after defeating Japan 3-2 (18-25 25-21 19-25 25-21 15-9) in the 7th round of the intercontinental qualifying tournament in Tokyo on Sunday.

Serbia, the current European champion, won 3rd place at the tournament. Russia and Korea also won a place at the Olympic Games, as the top two teams at the tournament, together with Japan, as the second best team from Asia.

The Olympic Games in London will be held from July 27 to August 12. Currently, 97 Serbian athletes have qualified, including tennis players.

The men's volleyball team will also have an opportunity to qualify for the games, at the intercontinental qualifying tournament that will also be held in Tokyo June 1 - 10.
