Jankovic outplays Pavlyuchenkova,Serbia leads 1-0

MOSCOW – The Serbian national tennis team took a 1-0 lead in the Fed Cup semi-finals, after Jelena Jankovic clinched a victory over Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6-4, 6-3 on Saturday. Later today, Svetlana Kuznetsova and Ana Ivanovic are due on court. On Sunday, the first match will be played by Kuznetsova and Jankovic as of 12 a.m. CET, and followed by a clash between Ivanovic and Pavlyuchenkova. In case of a tie, the winner will be decided by doubles between Maria Kirilenko/Elena Vesnina of Russia and Bojana Jovanovski/Aleksandra Krunic of Serbia. The winner of the duel will fight for the Fed Cup trophy with the winner of the Czech Republic-Italy tie.
