Legality of Glavas list yet to be determined

ZAGREB - The Croatian State Election Commission will decide on legality of the Croatian Democratic Alliance of Slavonija and Baranja's (HDSSB) election list, which will be headed by war criminal Branimir Glavas, only after the elections are called and the list submitted, the state body has stated.

HDSSB main board Monday unilaterally accepted that Branimir Glavas, who is serving an eight-year sentence in Bosnia-Herzegovina for war crimes against Serb civilians committed in Osijek (Croatia) in 1991, will head their election list.

Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor evaluated that this is illegal, and, recalling that the party does not recognize the verdict, added that political parties which do not support legal system of their country should not exist.
