Kolubara suspects to face investigative judge

BELGRADE, 05.10.2011
An investigative judge of the Belgrade Special Court will launch an interrogation of the suspects for fraud in the Kolubara mining complex, including former director Dragan Tomic, on Wednesday afternoon on suspicion of embezzlement of more than EUR 10 million.

After the interrogation, the judge will decide on the prosecution's proposal to remand the suspects in custody and launch an investigation against them.

Most of the suspects were arrested on Monday afternoon and their 48-hour police detention is due to expire on Wednesday.

The value of the illegally acquired assets is between RSD 20 million and RSD 290 million, while the total amount of the illegally gained assets and the financial damage inflicted to the Kolubara complex totals RSD 920 million, which at the time of the perpetration of the crime amounted over EUR 10 million.
