Census prolonged by three days

BELGRADE - The census in Serbia, which should have lasted by October 15, will be prolonged by three days for the citizens who have not been counted because census takers could not find them, Director of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia Dragan Vukmirovic stated on Tuesday.

He said in a statement for Radio and Television of Serbia that census workers will no longer tour homes, but that citizens will be able to inform census commissions when to visit them, or to go to the commissions by themselves so that the work could be completed.

In eight day, the population census in Serbia comprised over six million people and two and a half million households, which is an excellent result, Vukmirovic said.
