Cavic reaches World Cup butterfly finals

MOSCOW - Serbian swimmer Milorad Cavic reached the finals of men's 100m butterfly at the FINA World Cup in Moscow on Wednesday, after finishing seventh in the qualification round with 52.85 seconds.

Serbia's second representative in this race Velimir Stjepanovic finished 15th with 52.26 seconds, while in 200m freestyle race he won the same place with 1:48.83.

Australia's Geoff Huegill came first with 51.74 seconds, while current Olympic champion Michael Phelps finished fifth.

Miroslava Najdanovski did not make it to the 100m freestyle finals after finishing ninth in the qualification round with 55.51 seconds.

Stefan Sorak also fell short of the finals finishing 26th in the qualification round of 50m freestyle with 24.19 seconds.

The 100m butterfly finals is scheduled to take place Wednesday afternoon.
